National Library Week

It’s that time of year again…. This week is National Library Week! The theme for 2010 is “Communities Thrive” and as we all know libraries are a major part in that effort especially in hard economic times. This week I have decided to celebrate National Library Week a little differently than before on Stiletto Storytime. Instead of writing on my own blog I have been honored to guest post on two very special blogs about my calling as a librarian and the sometimes sad state of libraries in our current time. Please head over to these great blogs to read my articles and remember this week try to remember what a pivotal role libraries have played in your life, the life of your children or your community. Thanks a library staff member or librarian for what they do…it will make their day! And make sure to let your leaders and law makers know how important libraries are in our communities. Enjoy the week by reading a great book! And if nothing else at least make a visit to your local library to see all the wonderful things they have to offer!
