National Book Award Young People’s Literature Finalists for 2008

The National Book Award Finalists for Young People’s Literature was recently announced and the five contenders will be…

Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson (Simon & Schuster)

The Underneath by Kathi Appelt (Atheneum)

What I Saw and How I Lied by Judy Blundell (Scholastic)

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart (Hyperion)

The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp (Alfred A. Knopf)

I have to admit at this point I have only read The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks but I hope to get through them all before the November 19th ceremony announcing this year’s winner. Which is your pick?
