I have been reading some interesting adult fiction lately that I thought I might share. If you are looking for something a little different, imaginative and unputdownable, any one of these three newer works will hit the spot. (Yes I just created that new adjective unputdownable.)
Song Yet Sung by James McBride
The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff
The Heroines by Eileen Favorite
If you are particularly drawn to slave narrative based historical fiction give Old Dog or Perro Viejo by Teresa Cardenas a try as well. It is a translated work by a Cuban author that is dazzling in it’s simplicity and honesty. I found it when opening a new shipment of YA books and simply could not pass it up after reading the very first page.
